Excessive sweating
Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis
This is a disorder in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably due to an increased activity of sweat glands.
Sweating is the mechanism by which the body regulates its own temperature. But in some people, the body may produce a higher amount of sweating than which is needed for this function, so that they can even sweat when temperature is low or when they are resting.
This disorder is known as hyperhidrosis, and is due to a failure in the sympathetic nervous system that is part of the autonomic nervous system. This excessive humidity mainly affects hands, feet, armpits and face, which are the areas with a higher content of sweat glands.
